All the Pretty Little Horses
(Traditional, Additional Lyrics by Kenny Loggins & David Pack)
Hush a bye
Don't you cry
Go to sleep my little baby
When you wake
You shall have
All the pretty little ponies
In your bed
Momma said
Baby's riding off to dreamland
One by one
They've begun
Dance and prance for little baby
Blacks and bays
Dapples and greys
Running in the night
When you wake
You shall have
All the pretty little ponies
Can you see the little ponies
Dance before your eyes
All the pretty little ponies
Will be there when you arise

Baa, Baa, Black Sheep
Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full.
One for the master,
One for the dame,
And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane.
Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full.

Bill Grogan's Goat
There was a man (echo each phrase)
Now please take note
There was a man
Who had a goat
He loved that goat
Indeed he did
He loved that goat
Just like a kid.
One day that goat
Felt frisk and fine
Ate three red shirts
Right off the line
The man, he grabbed
Him by the back
And tied him to
A railroad track.
Now, when that train
Hove into sight
That goat grew pale
And green with fright
He heaved a sigh
As if in pain
Coughed up those shirts
And flagged the train!

Chicken
Chicken, chicken, you can't cluck too much for me.
Chicken, chicken, now come down off of that tree.
Chicken, chicken, chicken, you can't cluck too much for me.
"C" is for the little chick
"H" for the momma hen
"I" cause I love that bird
"C" for the cluck, cluck
"K" for the Kackle, Kackle
"E" and the little "N"
C-H-I-C-K-E-N
That's the way to spell chicken
That's my friend the chicken.

Chicken Lips and Lizard Hips
(Bruce Springsteen - Unreleased)
When I was a little kid
I never liked to eat
Mom would put things on my plate
And I'd dump 'em on her feet
But then one day she made this soup
I ate it all in bed
I asked her what she put in it
And this is what she said:
"Oh, chicken lips and lizard hips
And alligator eyes
Monkey legs and buzzard eggs
And salamander thighs
Rabbit ears and camel rears
And tasty toenail pies
Stir 'em all together
And it's mama's soup surprise"
I went into the bathroom
And I stood beside the sink
I said, "I'm feeling slightly ill
And I think I'd like a drink"
Mama said, "I've just the thing
I'll get it in a wink
It's full of lots of protein
And vitamins, I think"
"Oh, chicken lips and lizard hips
And alligator eyes
Monkey legs and buzzard eggs
And salamander thighs
Rabbit ears and camel rears
And tasty toenail pies
Stir 'em all together
And it's mama's soup surprise"

Cluck, Cluck, Red Hen
(Jackie Reinach)
(To the tune of "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep")
Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full,
One for your sweater and one for your rug
One for your blanket to keep you warm and snug.
Cluck, cluck red hen, have you any eggs?
Yes sir, yes sir, as many as your legs,
One for your breakfast and one for your lunch,
Come back tomorrow I'll have another bunch.
Moo, moo, brown cow, have you milk for me?
Yes sir, yes sir, as tasty as can be,
Churn it into butter, make it into cheese,
Freeze it into ice cream or drink it if you please.
Buzz, buzz, busy bee, is your honey sweet?
Yes sir, yes sir, sweet enough to eat.
Honey on your muffin, honey on your cake.
Honey by the spoonful, as much as I can make.
Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full.

Five Little Ducks
Five little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said "Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only four little ducks came back.
Four little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said "Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only three little ducks came back.
Three little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said "Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only two little ducks came back.
Two little ducks went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said "Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But only one little duck came back.
One little duck went out one day
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said "Quack, quack, quack, quack."
But none of the five little ducks came back.
Sad mother duck went out one day
Over the hill and far away
The sad mother duck said "Quack, quack, quack."
And all of the five little ducks came back.

Hinky Dinky 'Double D' Farm
Oh it's beans, beans, beans that make you feel so mean,
On the farm, on the farm,
Oh, it's beans, beans, beans that make you feel so mean,
On the Hinky Dinky 'Double D' farm.
Mine eyes are dim, I cannot see,
I have not brought my specs with me,
I have not brought my specs with me!
Oh it's corn, corn, corn that make you feel forlorn,
On the farm, on the farm,
Oh, it's corn, corn, corn that make you feel forlorn,
On the Hinky Dinky 'Double D' farm.
Mine eyes are dim, I cannot see,
I have not brought my specs with me,
I have not brought my specs with me!
Oh it's meat, meat, meat that knocks you off your feet,
On the farm, on the farm,
Oh, it's meat, meat, meat that knocks you off your feet,
On the Hinky Dinky 'Double D' farm.
Mine eyes are dim, I cannot see,
I have not brought my specs with me,
I have not brought my specs with me!
Oh it's pie, pie, pie that makes you want to cry,
On the farm, on the farm,
Oh, it's pie, pie, pie that makes you want to cry,
On the Hinky Dinky 'Double D' farm.
Mine eyes are dim, I cannot see,
I have not brought my specs with me,
I have not brought my specs with me!
Oh it's soup, soup, soup that makes you want to droop,
On the farm, on the farm,
Oh, it's soup, soup, soup that makes you want to droop,
On the Hinky Dinky 'Double D' farm.
Mine eyes are dim, I cannot see,
I have not brought my specs with me,
I have not brought my specs with me!
Oh it's peas, peas, peas that make you want to sneeze,
On the farm, on the farm,
Oh, it's peas, peas, peas that make you want to sneeze,
On the Hinky Dinky 'Double D' farm.
Mine eyes are dim, I cannot see,
I have not brought my specs with me,
I have not brought my specs with me!

I like Baby Animals
(sung to tune of London Bridge)
I like baby animals,
animals, animals.
I like baby animals,
I'll name some for you.
Kittens, puppies, chicks and foals,
Chicks and foals, chicks and foals.
Kittens, puppies, chicks and foals,
I can name some more.
Goslings, ducklings, lambs and calves,
Lambs and calves, lambs and calves.
Goslings, ducklings, lambs and calves,
I like baby animals.

Mary Had a Little Lamb
Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb
Mary had a little lamb; it's fleece was white as snow
And everywhere that Mary went, Mary went, Mary went
Everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go.

Old MacDonald had a farm, E I E I O.
And on his farm, he had a horse, E I E I O.
With a neigh-neigh here, and a neigh neigh there.

The Pig Song
(sung to the tune of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider")
Pigs are black and white and pink
With a large round snout.
They have a curly tail
That they often chase about.
There are many famous pigs
That you all may know.
(The Three Little Pigs, Miss Piggy, Babe, Proky Pig)
Can you make their silly sound?
Please tell me how they go. OINK!!

"Purple Cow" poem & drink
The Purple Cow
I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one.
by Gelett Burgess
Recipe is from a book called Blooming Recipes by LinguiSystems which I adapted to meet classroom needs:
For each child figure on 2 oz. of grape juice, 2 oz. of lemon-lime soda, and about 1/4 c. vanilla ice cream . Put about 1 c. of grape juice and 1 c. of ice cream in blender at a time and blend for 15 seconds or less. Fill small paper cups about half full of this mixture, then add the soda and serve. Make batches until you've got enough for everyone. Kids really liked this and copied down the recipe to take home on their own.

Shovels, Rakes & Even Hoes
(tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star")
Shovels, rakes, and even hoes
Help the farmer as he sows.
First, he digs into the ground;
Then he plants some seeds around.
Shovels, rakes, and even hoes
Help the farmer as he sows.

Sweetly Sings the Donkey
(Tune: "Itsy Bitsy Spider")
Sweetly sings the donkey
At the break of day
If you do not feed him
This is what he'll say,
"Hee-haw, hee-haw, hee-haw, hee-haw, hee-haw."
[Motions: Use first two fingers of each hand to make ears on head. Flap" ears" as you sing.]

Take Me Out to the Barnyard
Take me out to the barnyard
Take me out there right now
Show me the cows, pigs and horses too.
I hear an oink and a neigh and a moo
There are chickens laying their eggs
If they don't lay , it's a shame
Oh, it's one, two, three eggs today,
And I'm glad I came.

Ten Little Pigs
(Tune- "five little Ducks went out to play")
Ten little pigs rolled in the mud -
Squishy, squashy, felt so good.
The farmer took one piggy out.
"Oink, Oink, oink," the pig did shout!
Continue with nine, eight, seven so forth, then...
No little pigs rolled in the mud.
They all looked so clean and good.
The farmer turned his back and then,
Those pigs rolled in the mud again.

This Little Chick
This little chick ate corn today (hold up thumb)
This little chick ate worms, they say (hold up first finger)
This little chick ate yellow meal (hold up second finger)
This little chick ate potato peel (hold up third finger)
And this little chick like a fluffy ball (hold up fourth finger)
Ate a teeny, tiny, bit of all!
Corn today! Worms they say! Yellow meal! Potato peel!

To The Farm
(sung to the tune of Twinkle, twinkle)
Chicken, kittens, piglets too,
Donkeys, horses, cows that moo.
Fish that swim down in the pond,
Ducklings quacking all day long.
All these things you can see
If you go to the farm with me!

Tractors, Tractors
(tune: "Daisy, Daisy")
Tractors, tractors, tractors help farmers work.
They pull plows that break up the clumps of dirt.
W farmer can work much faster
Because he has a tractor.
There's lots to do the whole year through.
Tractors help farmers do the work.
